Steven Mitchell began his career in the mechanical industry during high school working on the flight line of the Burley Municipal Airport. He was doing valve jobs on small aircraft engines. After graduating high school became an ASC Certified Automotive Mechanic.
After a few years of working on passenger cars, Steve was able to come back to the machine shop world, working for Twin Falls racer Mark Kidd, and his engine shop for about six years.
While working for Kidd Steve was concurrently a part of the Idaho Army National Guard’s 116th Armored Cavalry Squadron. He was deployed twice, once to Bosnia, and once to Iraq. While part of the 116th part of his assigned duties was running the machine, the shop used to do maintenance on the squadron’s vehicles.
After his honorable discharge, he furthered his experience working in some aerospace machine shop, all along looking to get back into automotive. This is when he joined the team at WMRE.
Steven’s duties include working the hot hone and machining on the Centroid Machine.
